Kleiman Evangelista Eye Center | 3025 Matlock Road | Arlington, TX 76015 | 1 (800) 214-2020 The AcrySof ReSTOR ProcedureIf Dr. Kleiman or Dr. Evangelista finds that you are a good candidate for ReSTOR multifocal implants, then they will do everything possible to make the procedure as comfortable and stress-free as possible. The first step will be to remove the cataract. This is done under local anesthesia, so you will be fully awake. However, you will feel no pain. To extract the cataract, Dr. Kleiman or Dr. Evangelista will use a method called phacoemulsification (phaco). In this process, your doctor will make a 1/8-inch incision and insert what is known as a phaco probe. This probe is then used to break apart the cataract and remove it. Once the cataract is removed, Dr. Kleiman or Dr. Evangelista will insert the ReSTOR IOL through the same 1/8-inch incision. The entire procedure will take between 15 and 45 minutes. And because only a single, miniscule incision is required, recovery is extremely fast and painless. Are You A Candidate? The ReSTOR multifocal lens is for people who have been diagnosed with cataracts (with or without presbyopia) and are experiencing any of the following symptoms:
